Rio Vista Car Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Student safety is a top priority at Rio Vista. With this thought in mind, Rio Vista developed procedures for car drop-off and pick-up that take safety and traffic flow into consideration. If everyone will follow these procedures traffic will flow smoothly and the children will be safe.
The line to enter the Rio Vista parking lot forms on Cronese Lane. The line will turn right onto Havasu and then left into the parking lot. All cars that intend to drop their child(ren) off curbside in the parking lot should be in this line. To get into the line on Cronese Lane if you are driving south on Havasu Road, please turn left on Yucca Loma Road, right on Cochese Road, and then take the first right and you will be in line on Cronese Lane. For those traveling on Yucca Loma Road, please turn south onto Cochese Road and then right on Cronese Lane and you will then be in the line.
Rio Vista staff requests that you DO NOT cross Yucca Loma Road or turn onto Havasu Road from Yucca Loma Road and cut into the line waiting on Havasu Road that has formed following our procedures.
Please turn right when exiting the parking lot. To help keep the traffic flowing smoothly please turn left on Cronese Lane and then make your way to your destination.
Helpful Hints:
For pick up, please place a piece of paper with the name of your child(ren) on the dashboard of your car and we will call their name(s) and have them ready to hop into the car.
Please pull all the way forward when you reach the curb. We can load and unload more cars and the line will move quickly.
(For Pick-up) Remind your child(ren) to listen for their name(s) to be called.
Children should load and unload from the passenger side of your vehicle.
Because safety is the top priority, we would also ask that you do not let your child(ren) out of the car or pick them up in the middle of the street in front of the school. All cars should be entering the parking lot to let their child(ren) off or pick them up curbside. Teachers are on duty and will assist the children.
Depending on where you live, bus transportation may also be available. The AVUSD website offers information regarding bus transportation. If you would prefer, or are eligible for bus transportation and would like your child to become a bus rider, please call the office and we will be happy to change the information in the computer and the backpack tag regarding how your child(ren) goes home.
Thank you so very much for assisting the Rio Vista staff in keeping all of our students safe by following the above procedures. Your help is greatly appreciated.
