Robles Elementary All-Star Student of the Month

George K., 1st Grade

George is a student model in my class. He respects everybody in and outside the classroom. He's an eager beaver in my class. He shows enthusiasm in every activity. It can be seen in his grades. He is also consistent in making good choices. George is an inspiration to me and his friends. A 1st grader still, but ROARs like fully grown Bobcat.

Alex M., 5th Grade

Alex  comes to us from Robles Elementary as a proud Bobcat; he just needed a little more support that could be provided at the home of the Eagles. He has done an amazing job in all aspects of SOAR! He is respectful, compliant, and eager to learn. He is working on material above grade level and participates in classroom discussions and brings great thoughts and ideas to the table. He has an outstanding use of vocabulary and is able to add great detail to his writing and discussions. He is eager and ready to learn every day. It has truly been a pleasure having Alex in my class.

Continue to ROAR and SOAR in all that you do Alex!

Erica Yap, 5–8 Grade Exceptional Student Education

Ever since Erica became a part of AVSD, she has not shown any hesitation to help. She has always been open to extending any type of support and assistance, whether it be with kids who are under her care/caseload or in extracurricular activities that are for the benefit of the school. Without being asked, Erica constantly offers a helping hand within the classes she assists. She would help pass out handouts, worksheets, runs copies and volunteers to help ANY student to keep a collaborative learning environment, even when she doesn't have to. Even when some learners show any type of struggle, Erica would talk to that student and offer one-on-one support. She gives positive feedback to ALL students to keep them motivated. As part of the TAT/TOAT team, she has made it her calling to help students who do not have the skillset yet to be successful in what they do. She uses her expertise to design a behavior plan that would shift the students' mindset and help them make better choices. She communicates with parents in a way that makes them comfortable and hopeful about the situation. She is a joy to work with. She makes AVMS such a wonderful place to work in!

She has a way of bringing light into the workplace and turning challenges into opportunities. We appreciate her unexpected wisdom, which is sometimes exactly what you need to get through the day. She is a wonderful person  inside and out! Keep S.O.A.R.ing high!
