Each week I will add some new ideas for you to try at home together. Just choose one or two a day to do.

Practice learning the letters and sounds in English on Alphabet Games , abcya or upload Sunshine on line app to your ipad
Learn the letters and sounds by listening to Letter sound for juniors or the Letter sound rap
Make these letter books- Alphabet booklets ( Printer needed )
Start making your own dictionary with a word that starts with each letter and add a picture for each word eg. Aa apple, Bb ball, Cc cat, as you learn the letter and sound.
Make a card game as you learn each letter. Put the picture on one side and word on the other. Play by putting all pictures up and guessing the letter OR putting all letters up and saying the word. Turn over and if you are right keep the card. The winner has the most cards.
Make cards for English words you want to learn. ( Picture one side, word the other) Flashcard collections to print You can play card games with them. Put pictures facing up and guess the word.
Listen to the videos This is my Family Introducing my family Practice introducing your family- mother, father, brother, sister and grandparents eg Hello my name is _____. This is my _______. He is ______. ( eg funny, tall, clever, good at cooking, good at soccer etc)
Play Guess Who game ? Guess who it is in your family. "They have blue eyes and brown hair. Who is it? " "They like chocolate. Who is it?" " They can run fast. Who is it?"
Make labels for things at home- table, chair, door, TV, oven, fridge, window, bathroom, toilet, bed and put them around the house. Play Where is it game- Say, "Where is the....?" The Here is the ....." ( Furniture cards home flashcards to print )
Read Helping my Mum It is in English and other languages. Talk about the book. WHO was in the story?WHAT did they do to help? WHERE were they? And HOW do you help at home?
Read Alphabet Fun to practice learning letters.
Choose a story you like from Unite for Literacy Reading Books. It reads in English and other languages.
Write or talk about the story in your own language.
Draw pictures about the bits in the book you like and then write about it on your own if you can in English. OR tell your parents the sentence in your language and they write it for you in English to copy. OR Write repeated sentences about the story.

I like the _______. I like the _______. I like the _________.
You can read stories on the Sunshine on line app and practice your writing by writing a sentence about the story you read. eg I like the dog. The dog ate the cake.
