About us:

The Avon Winterguards consist of 2 competition teams. 

We have both a JV winterguard  (grades 7-10)

 and a Varsity winterguard (grades 9-12)

 We compete in the Ohio Indoor Performance Association Circuit. We travel to local  competitions and performances throughout Ohio, ending with State Championships held in late March. 

Ohio Indoor Performance Association 

 Each group practices twice a week, and each group has a different show theme every season.

 Each show is between 3.5-4 minutes long, and contains a combination of dance, flags, gymnastics, props, and theatrics. 

All training is provided, and no experience is necessary! 

Membership is by audition, and is open to 

all students in grades 7-12.

This group is supported  by the Avon Band and Orchestra Boosters

Varsity Audition Date: 

Open to students in grades 9-12

November 11th and 18th 5-8pm at Heritage North

JV Audition Date:  

Open to students in grades 7-10

Monday, November 17th 5-7pm at Heritage North

Wednesday, November 19th  5-7 pm at Heritage North

What to wear:

Comfortable clothes you can move in (shorts, leggings, sweats, etc)

Put hair up so it's out of your face.

Be prepared to wear socks, and no shoes

What to expect: 

All participants will learn basic skills in flag and dance

You will be evaluated for growth, potential, attitude, work ethic, and teamwork. 

Participants will be placed in the group,

 (OR, will receive feedback on what to work on for the next audition)

 based on these evaluations.

Results will be given after the 2nd audition date.
