PRINCIPAL'S PARAGRAPH

Dear AHS students, staff, and families,

As we conclude the third quarter, as usual, I want to celebrate all our students for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout the quarter. Whether it was excelling in academics, participating in extracurricular activities, or demonstrating leadership within the school community, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I am proud of each and every one of you for your commitment to excellence. Particularly, I want to shout out 11th grader Jeremy Richard who's score on the Open exam of the U.S. Biology Olympiad qualified him as a Semifinalist. Semifinalists are among the top 20% of participants across the country. What a tremendous accomplishment. Additionally, we have a number of students from our Winter Sports teams that received All Conference/ All State recognitions.  Congratulations! Finally, 9th grader Connor Wolfe submitted two original compositions to the CT Music Educators Association's Composition and Songwriting competition. Both compositions were selected to be featured during the 77th annual CMEA conference in April at the CT Convention Center. I can't say it enough, AHS has such talented students!

As we look ahead to the final quarter of the school year, I encourage everyone to stay focused, motivated, and engaged in their learning journey. The staff and I will continue to work together to create a positive and inclusive school environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. I look forward to celebrating even more amazing accomplishments in the next Falcon. For those celebrating Easter, may this joyful occasion be filled with love, hope, and renewal as you gather with family and friends to commemorate this special time. And to our Muslim families observing Ramadan, may this holy month continue to be a time of reflection, growth and community solidarity as you fast and engage in acts of worship and charity. As a school community, we always seek to celebrate the richness of our cultural and religious diversity, and we honor the traditions and beliefs of all our students and families. May this season be a time of unity, understanding, and respect for one another's customs and traditions.

In Community,

Dr. Lockhart
