Jazz Bands

Avon High School Jazz Band

Auditions will take place in the early Fall. This group has standard "Big Band" instrumentation and performs in the Winter and Spring concerts as well as Bandapalooza and other events. This year the High School Jazz Band rehearses at AHS each Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 PM.

The AHS Jazz Band will take a break from late January through late April. However the band will resume and perform until school gets out.

The AHS Jazz Band performed at the first National Jazz Festival in Philadelphia on February 15, 2020. We performed in the L2 competitive division and were ranked 5th place out of 8 other schools in our division. Congratulations to all the member of the 2019/2020 AHS Jazz Band.

A special congratulations to Dan Shea for his two medals at NJF. He earned "Best Soloists" from the evaluation of our room judges. Dan also earned 1 out of 3 "Outstanding Soloist" awards from amongst the L2 division. Great work Dan!

Avon Middle School Jazz Band

No audition required. It is the goal for the Avon Middle School Jazz Band to perform at the Winter and Spring concerts. This year the Avon Middle School Jazz Band rehearses at AMS each Monday from 2:30-3:30 PM.
