Dr.T.S. Avinashilingam is such a visionary and a stalwart who planted the seeds for women's education under the auspices of Avinashilingam Education Trust in 1957. Under the auspices of this Trust, this great patriot and educationist established the Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore, as an aided college in 1957, in the heart of the city.
