Class Choices After AP Calculus AB

This class was meant to prepare you for AP Calculus BC.  However, shutting down due to COVID-19 changed things.  I believe each of my Calculus students have THREE choices.  Here are my thoughts:

(1) AP Calculus BC - If the Calculus AB class was a good class for you (got an A or B)... AP Calculus BC is the class for you.

(2) Trig Pre-Calc - If the Calculus AB class was tougher that you thought and you got a B or C or D... And maybe you don't feel you're ready for the next math class, then Trig Pre-Calc  (dual enrollment) is the class for you.  It is not a step backwards.  The dual enrollment class will also get you college credit (from AVC).  Look into that!

(3) IB Math -  If you are thinking of the IB program... the IB math class we offer is perfect for you at this time.  If you are a sophomore this year then you can take Calculus BC your senior year.

(4) AP Stats  - If the Calculus AB class wasn't for you, and you still need more math credit, maybe AP stats or Financial Algebra might be perfect for you. 

(5) Financial Algebra - If the Calculus AB class wasn't for you, and you still need more math credit, maybe AP stats or Financial Algebra might be perfect for you.  

** I feel ~80% of my students should go to Calculus BC next year.

** I feel ~10% of my students should go to Trig Pre/Calc next year.

** I feel the other ~10% will go into IB or Stats or Financial Algebra.
