National Teen BPL eCard

For a limited time, individuals ages 13-21 can apply for a free BPL eCard, providing access to our full eBook and audiobook collection as well as our learning databases. To apply, email booksunbanned@bklynlibrary.org.

LibriVox is a group of worldwide volunteers who read and record public domain texts, creating free public domain audiobooks for download from their website and other digital library hosting sites on the internet 

The Palace Bookshelf is a collection of more than 11,000 ebooks that are free to download, no log in or registration required. The collection includes classics, children's books, textbooks, foreign language titles, and more.

Plain website listing over 3 million free books on the Web, along with archives & indexes in languages around the world. This large database is maintained by a digital librarian at UPenn. 

While you might not be thinking about the job market just yet, coding is one of the most valuable skills that you can pick up. On the free site, you can choose what to learn, including building websites to analyze data. You’ll learn by doing and can start writing code within a few minutes of joining the site.  

A thoughtful adaptation of the famous and fun novel writing contest, NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program is brimming with advice and encouragement for young writers. Good for novel writing in November, as well as smaller writing challengs year-round.

The interactive writing site is perfect for high school students who wants to brush up on their craft before writing their college admissions essays. Quill provides free writing and grammar activities for high school students. On Quill, you can gain editing skills by proofreading passages, practicing grammar skills through short activities and advancing your writing.
