Program Description:

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a program that prepares students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.

Student Goals:

1. Prepare for academic success in high school through enrollment in rigorous classes (honors, AP, etc.).

2. Prepare for successful completion of college eligibility requirements.

3. Prepare for enrollment in a higher educational setting (4-year, 2-year, trade, or military) after high school graduation. 

Student Responsibilities:

1. Maintain enrollment in rigorous academic classes.

2. Maintain satisfactory grades, citizenship (including no suspensions/fights), and attendance in all classes. 

3. Maintain the AVID binder with assignments/grade record sheets and daily notes from all classes.

4. Be an active and engaged part of the tutorial process.

5. Enroll in at least one AP class and/or take an AP Exam by the end of junior year.

6. Participate in extracurricular activities and engage in 20+ hours of community service every year.  

7. Commit to being enrolled in the AVID elective for (at least) an entire year.

• Two Completed Teacher Recommendation Forms (Completed online). Please give them the slip below.

• Please complete all of the above and bring your current grades to your interview session.  All interviews will be held during registration nights.  Please verify the email address used in your application is accurate and one you check regularly, as this will be our main form of communication.

****Interviews are on a first-come, first-served basis and are approximately 15 minutes long. 

Parents need not be present at the interview****
