1. Am I required to attend the conference? The conference is being held on a regular contract day, and the expectation is that you attend. If you opt to do otherwise, please call in your absence to subfinder, indicating NO SUB REQUIRED.
2. What time does the conference begin and end? Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. to check in and begin your first session by 8:30 a.m. The conference will conclude at 2:30 p.m. with approximately an hour for lunch.
3. Will breakfast be available? Yes, a Chik-Fil-A breakfast will be available at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.
4. Where do I park on the conference day? Parking is available in the main lot of the campus at Eastside High School as well as in the overflow area outside of the campus. Under no circumstances should you park in the desert area across the street; you will be ticketed by law enforcement. Also note that while there will be sufficient parking for all conference participants, we recommend carpools, if possible.
5. Where do I report when I arrive at the conference? Enter through the main gates and check in with the classified staff at your school site table to sign in. They will provide a map of Eastside High School. For your convenience, a map is also available at the end of this page.
6. What do I do after checking in, and will a conference schedule be provided? You may head directly to your first session. Conference schedules will be provided. You may also use the Sched app to view your sessions throughout the day or print your schedule before you arrive.
7. I have heard that the theater is outside of the main building; how do I get to it? Yes, the theater is its own distinct structure, adjacent to the campus; you will need to exit the main campus for a short walk to enter it; volunteers will be on hand to offer directions.
8. Is lunch being offered at the conference? Yes, a pizza/salad lunch with few options for vegetarian and gluten free diets will be offered. Continental breakfast will also be available as early as 7:30 a.m.
9. I am a CTE Teacher, which Teacher Space session should I register for? CTE teachers should register for the session that most closely matches your content area. For example if you are a Biomedical Science CTE teacher, you will attend a Science Teacher Space. Please contact Dr. McKinstry if you have questions about your session.
10. Will I have an opportunity to provide feedback on the conference? Certainly! At the end of each workshop, the presenter will allow time to respond electronically to a brief survey on the current session via the Sched app.
11. How do I qualify for a prize, and if I win, how will I be informed? Watch for the QR code, which will be posted at high traffic areas, such as your session room door, theater lobby, cafeteria, vendor path. Complete and submit the form to be entered to win. Go to the PRIZE page to see the prizes. Prize winners will be announced at 2:15 p.m. over the public address system. You must be present to win.
