The AVUHSD is committed to the health and safety of all students. In order to address the specific needs of substance abuse that may occur on or off campus our goal is to inform and educate our students of the seriousness of substance use. Each campus offers a continuum of services to students.
We offer a structured curriculum for:
TADD (Reassignment) includes 1-3 hours of curriculum to be completed when the student has been reassigned to the Student Support Center as an Alternative to Suspension with a trained Student Support Mentor. (Herren Curriculum)
TADD- Natural High Resources for Reassignment (1-2 Hours)
TADD includes 3-6 hours of curriculum to be completed Before or After School as another Other Means of Correction. Students go deeper into the content with a trained TADD Facilitator. (Herren Curriculum)
TADD Plus+ includes 6 hours of intensive curriculum that focuses more on the addiction of substance use to be completed Before or After School, or on a Saturday as an additional Other Means of Correction. Students identify and address the root cause of their substance use with a trained TADD Facilitator. (Drug Free World , Everfi, and Tobacco/ Cannabis Tool Kit Curriculum are used.)
