Mrs. Shirley Payton, 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away at home on December 19, 2019. She was born on October 19, 1937 in Belvidere, Illinois to William & Bessie Moore. Shirley was a housewife, homemaker and was very active in her community. She was a member of Marana VFW, Women’s Auxiliary, St Christopher Catholic Parish and Casas Church. Shirley, widely known as “Gramms” or “Mom” to anyone that knew her, was also a proud championship team bowler. She was active in numerous charities, and was known for her honesty and as a witty advisor to all.

Preceded her in death is her husband, Vern Payton; her parents, William Frances & Bessie Mae Moore; her sister, Frances Beard; her brother, David Moore; and one grandchild.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jane Anne Murray; 4 sons, Edward Allen Boettcher, Donald Eugene Boettcher, James Arthur Boettcher, and Kenneth Michael Boettcher; 1 sister, Roberta Hackman; 1 brother, Howard Moore; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 9:00am at the Barrier Chapel at Casas Church. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am, also at Casas Church. A procession to her final resting place, Holy Hope Catholic Cemetery, will immediately follow the service.
