I grew up in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Ohio. While I'm not a native of Pittsburgh, I've been coming here since I was a little kid and rooting for the Steelers where ever I was, so it was an incredibly easy choice to decide to make Pittsburgh the eventual home for my family. Between getting a bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College and a masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh, I spent four years teaching English to university students in China.
Outside of teaching, I try to spend as much time as I can outdoors, either out on a hiking trail, or just walking around my neighborhood, usually with my dog and family. I'm a big fan of the Steelers and Penguins, and if they're on, I might even watch a Pirates game. I love cooking, and my family will usually agree that I do a pretty good job trying out new dishes, especially on the second try.
