KUALA LUMPUR- MALAYSIA

ACU ARE EXCITED TO BE OFFERING AUSTRALIAN DANCERS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY THE OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN A POSITION ON ONE OF OUR 2026 TEAM AUSTRALIA NATIONAL DANCE TEAMS TO COMPETE AT THE ICU ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN KUALA LUMPUR- MALAYSIA IN OCTOBER.
THE TEAMS WE ARE TAKING TO THE ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE TAPO (SENIOR POM) & TAHO (SENIOR HIP HOP).
WE HAVE ATHLETES CONTINUING THEIR 2026 ICU JOURNEY ON THESE TEAMS, AND SOME PLACES AVAILABLE FOR NEW ATHLETES HOPEFUL TO JOIN OUR PROGRAM.
APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FOR ATHLETES FROM ALL ACROSS AUSTRALIA.
IF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SELECTED TO JOIN OUR TEAMS.....
COACHES, ATHLETES & SUPPORTERS WILL ALL BE TRAVELLING & STAYING TOGETHER ON A TRAVEL PACKAGE WITH GULLIVER'S TRAVEL.
ATHLETES AGED UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE WILL NEED TO BE CHAPERONED BY A GUARDIAN.
OUR DANCE TEAMS WILL HAVE THE OPTION TO FLY OUT OF EITHER SYDNEY OR BRISBANE OR PERTH.
APPROXIMATE COST OF PACKAGE $3200.
ATHLETES WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMMIT TO STATE BASED TRAINING, PARTICIPATE IN 'HOMEWORK' (INDIVIDUAL REHEARSAL & STRENGTH & CONDITIONING), PLUS ONE WEEKEND FULL TEAM TRAINING IN NSW IN THE LEAD UP TO LEAVING FOR MALAYSIA.
DATES WILL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE AUSTRALIAN COMP SEASON TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY INCLUDING COMMUNICATING WITH YOUR HOME CLUBS.
ATHLETES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A COMPETITION COSTUME (ON TOP OF THEIR TRAVEL PACKAGE).

Thank-you for your interest in being part of TAHO 2026 Asian Championships Team.
TAHO age requirements- born 2010 or before
Applications close on Sunday July 12, 2026 at midnight (time as per your home state).
TAHO Try-out Submission Requirements
Please ensure that submissions are filmed on safe surfaces and following safe dance practices.
Create a video submission that needs to include
Athlete introducing themselves- name, age, DOB, state, club & why they want to be on Team Australia
Athlete dancing set choreography (please see video below)
Music- 'Sticky' Tyler The Creator (clean version)
Athlete dancing a second piece of choreography (approx 30 seconds) of a routine they know or freestyle
Athlete performing (to the best of their ability) the following desired skills
Kip Up
Rubber Band
Headspring
Please also showcase any additional breaking skills you have (including but not limited to: freezes, flare, windmill). Please also include any and all tumbling (both running and standing).
For safety, please only film skills that you are proficient in.
Note that skills and tumbling are highly desired but are NOT mandatory.

The choreography is designed to showcase clean, sharp motions with precise placement.
Coaches are looking for strong attack, clear execution, and the ability to hit and hold each count with intent and control.
