You have access to the New York Times while on school wifi.

We own thousands of print books and can get you any book from any AISD campus through our inter-library loan system. Stop by and request a book or send Ms. Switek an email. You can search the LASA and AISD online catalog here.
You also have an Austin Public Library account that gains you access to all their print books, as well as Libby and Hoopla. Need help logging into it? Stop by and chat with Ms. Switek!

The Raptor Library is open
M-Th from 7:30am-6:30pm
& Fridays 7:30am-4pm.
We have space for relaxing, studying, small group work, large lectures, and private spaces. You can reserve the Conference Room or Ms. Switek's office for meetings/interviews.

I'm Ms. Switek and I'm excited to be your Librarian! I have lived in Austin since 1993, but before that I've lived all over the United States and in Italy and Germany as an Air Force brat. I have an AB in Geology with a concentration in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College, a MS in Geology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and a Master in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas-Austin. My career has been pretty varied: I've worked in cultural resource management specifically with Caddoan ceramics, I was the Archivist for the Lloyd Bentsen Papers at UT, the Corporate Archivist and Records Manager for SEMATECH, and then I was the librarian at Austin Discovery School for 15 years before arriving at the LASA library. My boys graduated from LASA in 2017 and 2020 and you'll hear me brag about them constantly.
I love to read, cook, garden, run, knit, do puzzles, and travel and my most recent passion is spinning and dying wool. Stop by and say hi!
