Pets and Animals
Warning: There is an age restriction to volunteer with the animals at local shelters. They also ask for monthly involvement hours.
Research the different shelters around town to find a good fit. Look into options in addition to volunteering at the shelter. Do they need certain items? Is there something you can make or donate for them?
Somewhere to start:
Food Insecurity/Hunger
There are many different organizations that work locally to support food insecurity.
Canned or boxed, unperishable food donations are accepted many places. Some organizations allow you to make sandwiches or other foods for people. Other places allow you to organize goods or serve others a meal.
Somewhere to start:
Homelessness & Poverty
Many organizations that support the unhoused community are in need of supplies for people on the streets or recently transitioning into homes.
Seek out additional information on items of greatest need. Then work on your own or in support of an established organization.
Somewhere to start:
Environmentalism
Take direct action through clean up efforts or habitat restoration. Volunteer with organizations that have responsible reuse of products.
Focus on advocacy and education - what can you teach others about human impact on the environment? How can you spread the word to enforce change?
Somewhere to start:
