Ms. Machu was born in Austin, Texas and grew up in a small town just northeast of the city. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Child Study and Language Development from Southwestern University, and her Masters in Multicultural Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been teaching since 2005, and has been a Special Education Resource/Inclusion Teacher at St. Elmo Elementary since 2006. She also serves as the Campus Innovation (EdTech) Connector and Special Education Department Chair.
