Important Considerations About Grades Earned in High School Courses
Every grade matters, even electives
All high school course grades are included in your high school GPA. Even if you are taking a fun middle school elective course for high school credit, it will still be included in your grade point average for high school. Your GPA, or grade point average, is an average of all of your grades.
This means that if you took a year-long Engineering class for high school credit in 7th grade, it will be listed on your high school transcript when you apply to colleges.
General Marshall Middle School follows the guidelines of the Texas Education Agency and provides tiered intervention. Students who have been identified as requiring more direct work with a small group and teacher, will be assigned an intervention class. This is dependent on many factors including performance on the STAAR test, teacher input, family input, and growth over time.
