After completing Algebra 1, students should move on to Geometry. The topics covered in this class can be somewhat of an adjustment for students. Everything prior to Algebra 1 builds towards Algebra 1, whereas Geometry uses students' understanding of Algebra to study the properties of space (think shapes, lines, angles, and measurement). We offer 2 different levels of Geometry (click to read through each option):
NOTE: a student who did very well in Algebra 1 as a 9th grader may be interested in "double-blocking" math as a sophomore, taking Geometry and Algebra 2 in the same year. This would allow that student the opportunity to take an additional advanced math course as a senior, such as Statistics or Calculus. Usually students who choose this route opt to take Advanced Geometry and Advanced Algebra 2 (or OnRamps).
