Hello! My name is Rachel Briles. I am a mom with one kid still at Hill and one Hill graduate now in Middle School. I graduated from the University of Texas as a Dean's Scholar with highest honors and I also have my Masters of Education in Curriculum from UT-Austin.
I love so many things about life. I love my family and my students so, so much. I love being outdoors (except during Cedar season...), tall trees, and great expanses. I love teaching my students about the Earth and our universe and sharing with them how cool I think these systems and living communities are. I love teaching the history of our nation and exploring what might have been going through our ancestors' minds as they met new obstacles. Most of all, I love sharing what I know with awesome kids and being there to support them.
Hello, Hill families! My name is Christine MacDonald, and this is my second year at Hill Elementary. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Communication Disorders. Before teaching at Hill, I taught grade 4 at Summitt Elementary and grades 6-12 in Japan, Taiwan, and Houston.
I have two little munchkins at home, Remy and Lilia. Remy will be a second grader this year at Summitt, and Lilia will be in Kinder here at Hill. I also have two stepkids, Emerson and Willow, who are both in high school. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, doing anything outdoorsy (when it’s not 100+ degrees), and of course, sleeping!
I am excited for the new school year and look forward to a great year getting to know all of you!
Hey Dillos! My name is Jessie Grefe and I am SO excited to join the Hill community. I was born and raised right here in North West Hills and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2020.
Before coming to Hill, I taught English, science, and history to 5th and 6th grade in Madrid, Spain for three years. I also worked at Camp Doublecreek in Round Rock as their innovation and development coordinator.
In my free time, I love seeing live music, continuing to study Spanish, traveling, yoga, and spending time with loved ones.
I am so excited to meet y’all, I know we are going to have a fantastic year!
Raising your grade: students will rarely be asked or reminded by a teacher to raise their grades. As soon-to-be Middle Schoolers, we are training them to take responsibility for raising their own grades.
Ask Mrs. MacD if you can redo the assignment and then turn that redone work into Mrs. MacD!
