AISD Department of Counseling, Crisis, and Mental Health

The Office of Counseling coordinates and leads 102 elementary and 130 secondary professional school counselors who provide the district’s comprehensive counseling program. The components of the program include core counseling lessons, individual planning, responsive services, and system support, in accordance with the American School Counselor Association's National Model as well as the Texas Model.

As a result of school counseling support, students demonstrate self-identity, a sense of belonging, academic tenacity and college, career, and life readiness.

Building on the foundation of Austin ISD's SEL&CPI initiatives, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Neurosequential Model for Education, school counselors will support strong outcomes for all students.
