Dear Austin High Parents,

We’re excited to launch the 2025 Opportunity Fund Campaign! This annual fall fundraiser brings AHS families and local businesses together to ensure that all students—regardless of financial need—can participate in academy travel experiences. More than 25% of AHS students require financial assistance, and your contributions help make these opportunities accessible to everyone.

Many of you have already supported your academy by paying the annual $100 Program Fee. Thank you! The Opportunity Fund Campaign is an additional, academy-specific fundraiser that directly supports scholarships for students in need. We understand that high school fundraising can sometimes feel overwhelming—if you’d like clarity on how the different efforts fit together, please visit AHS Fundraising 101 for a full breakdown.

What makes AHS truly unique is our academy model, where learning extends far beyond the classroom. These experiences—whether local field trips or international learning expeditions—are essential to every student’s education. But they’re only possible if all students can participate.

We invite you to become part of the Opportunity Fund Campaign by making a tax-deductible donation between now and December 31. In previous years, the four academies at Austin High (ACS, ADT, AGS and ASI) have run separate campaigns to raise funds for each academy's individual trips. In an effort to simplify, we are joining forces this year to fundraise together. Be assured that you will have the option to choose your student’s academy and your donation will continue to be used by that academy.

Academy for Design & Technology

● 9th Grade: Mini-Golf Design Challenge Day Trip & Dallas Learning Expedition

● 10th Grade: Boston STEM Learning Expedition

● 11th Grade: Choice of San Francisco or Panama STEM Learning Expedition

Academy for Global Studies

● 9th Grade: Camp Global Learning Expedition; Walk for Water Day Trip

● 10th Grade: Upcycle Day Trip & Costa Rica Learning Expedition

● 12th Grade: Thailand Service Learning Expedition

Academy for Science and Innovation

● 9th Grade: Texas Coastal Learning Expedition

● 10th Grade: UT Chemistry Day & NASA/Houston Learning Expedition

● 11th Grade: Choice of San Francisco or Panama STEM Learning Expedition
