---❓ Can I present work from a class project?
Absolutely! Many successful presentations come from course projects, research papers, lab work, or capstone projects. If you've done substantial work that demonstrates learning and inquiry, it's appropriate for the symposium.
--- ❓ What if I'm working with a team?
Collaborative projects are welcome! You can list multiple presenters in your application. Decide in advance who will present which portions if accepted.
--- ❓ Do I need my professor's approval?
While not required, we strongly encourage you to discuss your presentation with your faculty mentor or course instructor. They can provide valuable feedback and support.
--- ❓ What if I've never presented research before?
The symposium welcomes first-time presenters! This is a supportive environment designed to help students develop their presentation skills.
--- ❓ Is there funding or support available?
Selected presenters may be eligible for support with materials and printing for posters. Contact the LEAD program for more information.
--- ❓ Can I attend even if I'm not presenting?
Yes! The symposium is open to all ACC students, faculty, staff, and community members. Come support your peers!
--- ❓ What happens after I submit my application?
A review committee will evaluate all submissions. You'll receive notification of acceptance by April 6, 2026 with presentation details.

Your abstract should be 250-350 words (no more, no less) and include: your research question, methodology, key findings, and why your work is significant.
--- ❓ Can I change my presentation format after applying?
Contact the LEAD program if you need to change your format. We'll do our best to accommodate requests.
--- ❓ Will my presentation be recorded?
Please check with the organizers about recording policies. Some presentations may be recorded for archival purposes.
--- ❓ What should I wear? Business casual attire is recommended.
Dress professionally as you would for a job interview or professional conference.
--- ❓ How long will my presentation be? Specific timing will be provided in your acceptance notification.
Typically oral presentations are 10-15 minutes with Q&A.

Yes! Presenting your research at multiple venues is common in academic settings and helps you refine your presentation skills.

Your audience will include ACC students, faculty, staff, and sometimes community members interested in student research.
