This section briefly explores the rich and varied music of Puerto Rico, showcasing both timeless classics and contemporary sounds representative of the island. From the vibrant rhythms of traditional genres like bomba,plena and salsa, to the global influence of modern styles like reggaeton, Latin trap and Latin jazz., Puerto Rican music has continually evolved while retaining deep cultural roots.   

Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. 

A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity.

Fania Records (NYC) is one of the most influential record labels in Latin Music History. The label was instrumental in popularizing Salsa music around the world.   

Ansonia Records was founded in the 1960s in New York City and documented some of the most significant Afro-Latin, and Caribbean musicians in the US and Puerto Rico including La Lupe and Charlie Palmieri.
