Degree Planning Questions
What's the difference between taking classes for Dual Credit (DC) and getting an Associate's Degree through the Early College High School (ECHS) program?
Taking classes for Dual Credit refers to earning credit for both high school and college credit.
Taking ACC courses via the ECHS program means your goal is to complete a full Associate's degree by the time you graduate high school. This is 60 college credit hours, fulfilling specific degree requirements. Degree requirements vary by subject area. Classes taken while in high school can be used towards both high school and college credit.
For more guidance on which option is best for you, please talk to your high school counselor.
What ACC classes should I take next?
Talk to Mrs. Lucinda Gannon and Mrs. Margaret McBride about what your options are.
During the Semester
I am having difficulties with my professor, what do I do?
I recommend trying to communicate difficulties directly with your professor, especially if it relates to a grade in your class.
If you need help navigating a difficulty, email me and your high school counselor so we can help you.
I am sick or otherwise unable to attend and participate in class, what do I do?
If you are unable to attend class, I recommend reaching out the the professor so that they are aware of the situation. Please email me as well so I can support you.
I am thinking of withdrawing from a class. How do I do this?
Steps to withdraw from your class can be found here.
Note: Please make sure you receive a confirmation email about your withdrawal.
If you are unsure of if you should withdraw from a course, please reach out via email or schedule a meeting. We can talk about the pros and cons of withdrawing from a course.
You must talk to both Mrs. Lucinda Gannon and Mrs. Margaret McBride regarding your interest in withdrawing, so your high school schedule can be adjusted as needed.
