In 2019, working with President Jeff Torlina, I chose to take AHS to the borderland of El Paso/Juarez, at the height of migrant detention and child separation during the first Trump administration. The goal was to bring attention to the plight of border civilians, the inhumanity of detention, and the emancipatory work of Latin Scholarship.
