Ecuadorian singer-songwriter Javier Jara teams up with the 18-piece, string orchestra Austin Unconducted to present an orchestral rendition of the Our Rhythms, Our Voices project. For the project, Javier Jara and his team interviewed Latin American immigrants in the United States from all walks of life and turned those interviews into songs using a rhythm from the person’s homeland. The concert and the project aim to celebrate Latin American immigrants in their diversity, cultural heritage, and contributions to this country and beyond. Visitors can check out local vendors, including food, drink, arts and crafts, and farm-to-market items while enjoying live music, a playground for kids, and areas to sit and visit with your friends and neighbors.

Feliz Hispanic Heritage Month from Nicholas Solis and BookPeople!

BookPeople is celebrating the release of The Littlest Grito with a party featuring Ballet Folklórico Dancers, Pan Dulce, a Grito Contest, and more!

This event is free and open to the public.

• Run time: 45-60 minutes, followed by a signing line.

• Location: The second floor of BookPeople.

The author will be signing and personalizing copies of the book after the speaking portion of the event.

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day at this free and family-friendly event! This day marks the 214th anniversary of the declaration of independence from Spain by the Mexican priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. The highlight of the evening will be when Consul General of Mexico Humberto Hernández Haddad reenacts the cry for independence. Entertainment will feature the Roy Lozano Ballet Folclórico and Mariachi Capital. The event will include an artisan mercado with art and arts and crafts from México.

The second day of Centroamericanto Fest is dedicated to Central American films. Two short movies and a documentary will be shown. Salvadoran film Desconexion is a fiction short by Cristina Melendez, the Guatemalan Indigenous short film K´ULUB´ÏK a posthumous homage to its director Julio Apopa, and last the full feature documentary El Sentido de las Cuerdas by Salvadoran Marcela Zamora.

Join The Cathedral and OfColor to kick off their partnership for Latino Art Month and Hispanic Heritage Month! With a month of events showcasing local artists of every design, the two groups have joined forces to highlight more artists with more art, bigger events, and hotter talent. The Kickoff Party is your exclusive first look at the month-long exhibit and will feature an intimate panel with some of the featured artists, a DJ, festive bites, and complimentary craft cocktails to kick off this festive month!

Families are invited to come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in East Austin at the Cepeda Branch Library!  This is a free event by the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center and Austin Public Library. It's free for all ages with Lowrider crafts, Lowrider Art by Alonso Estrada, and live music by Austin's Bronze Band!

On the final day of Centroamericanto Fest, enjoy a special concert titled Costa Rica Canta, featuring top Costa Rican artists. The lineup includes singer-songwriters Jeana and Juan Carlos Ureña, María Pretiz, and Viña del Mar winner Humberto Vargas. They’ll be joined by fellow Costa Ricans Mario Álvarez on bass and Gabriel Gutiérrez on percussion.

The City of Manor is celebrating and recognizing the culture, history, and achievement of Hispanic Americans in our community with a Hispanic Heritage Celebration. There will be food vendors, market vendors, live music, games, and cultural performances.

Salvadoran singer-songwriter Mauricio Callejas will unveil the last songs of his new EP Trópicos. Mauricio will also perform songs from his 2022 album Veinte which never had an EP release party on its own. Come and enjoy this unique opportunity to listen to these songs performed by a live band at the beautiful stage of The Rosette.

This is a donation-based event, but those who donate $20 or more will receive a limited-edition CD or a USB Card, including both EP's Tropicos and Veinte.
