(ONGOING) Austin Public Library's Disability Dialogues Book Club
Join the Austin Public Library on the second Saturday of each month this fall for the Disability Dialogues Book Club. The Disability Dialogues Book Club is a book club for conversations about Disability Justice, highlighting the perspectives of intersectional Disabled writers & thinkers.
The 2025 fall featured books will be:

Disability Rights Texas Board Meeting
The public is invited to provide comments during the quarterly Disability Rights Texas board meeting. The meeting will take place on Zoom. If you would like to provide public comments via Zoom at this meeting or in writing, please complete the Board Meeting Public Comment Sign-Up Form at least 3 days prior to the meeting.
The Disability Rights Texas' mission statement is to help people with disabilities understand and exercise their rights under the law, ensuring their full and equal participation in society.

In celebration of Disability Pride Month, the UT Disability Cultural Center (DCC) is partnering with Austin Adapted Sports and RecSports to host weekly adapted tennis and pickleball nights. Open to all disability and experience levels, this inclusive program provides equipment and encourages community participation. RSVP by Mondays at noon to attend.

Hosted by UT’s DCC, this virtual discussion series invites community members to reflect on current events, policies, and trending media through the lens of disability. Austin Public Library's Reading the Rainbow Book Club: South
Celebrate Disability Pride Month with Austin Public Library’s Reading the Rainbow book club, a monthly gathering dedicated to LGBTQIA+ literature. In honor of the month, July’s featured read is Even Though I Knew the End by C.L. Polk. Whether you finish the book or not, all are welcome to join the discussion. Attend in person at the Twin Oaks Branch or virtually via a moderator-sent link after registration.

Disability Pride Month Reading & Showcase
Art Spark Texas is hosting a Disability Pride Month showcase in partnership with Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD), Alienated Majesty Books, and Thunder & Lightning Poetry Collective. For over ten years, CTD and Art Spark Texas have hosted monthly Lion & Pirate open mics to celebrate writers and performers with disabilities. Open to everyone in the community (with and without disabilities), this month’s L&P at Alienated Majesty Books will be hosted by Sueitko Zamorano-Chavez and feature a line-up of local poets and authors with disabilities to present an hour-and-a-half-long reading.
