New Money Requests (NMR)

There are two types of New Money Requests:

      • Planning Requests
      • Operating Budget Requests
      • Tech Plan Requests

Planning Requests

Planning Requests are requests for additional monies needed to achieve the objectives of an approved Strategic Plan and documented Unit Planning Goal. The list of strategic plan goals can be found on the next page. Strategic Plan Requests can contain all of the same elements as an Operating Budget Request. The only difference is the identified link to one of the Strategic Plans and to a Unit Planning Goal.

Operating Budget Requests

Operating Budget Requests are requests for additional monies needed to maintain the current service levels of the department. These needs can include staffing, operating costs, or equipment. Examples of an Operating Budget Request may include:

      • Additional staffing to handle increased workloads.
      • Additional supplies due to increased enrollments.
      • Additional mileage funds due to higher rates.
      • New equipment or technology to improve operational efficiencies.
      • Needs related to district-wide initiatives like New Campuses.

Tech Plan Requests

Tech Plan Requests are requests for the purchase, replacement, maintenance, or repair of capital equipment, software, or technology. The requests are operating requests, but are reviewed and prioritized by the College-Wide Technology and Capital Outlay Committee. Tech Plan Requests that exceed $75,000 will require the completion of the ACC Technology Request form.

This screen (eBudget) allows the user to view, edit, delete, and add new money requests. New money requests are referred to as packages. This is because a request may contain a single request or several related requests, thus forming a package. For example, a package may only have a request for more supply money, or it may also include travel and operating requests.

Remember, the entire package will be prioritized, so if the package is not approved, every component of the package is not approved.
