How to get your advising set up:
At ACC, we are committed to your academic success! To continue to help you reach your goals, we’re introducing Civitas Learning, a tool that helps you get connected to one of your most important resources in college - your advisor! This new tool allows you to schedule appointments, send quick messages to your advisor via text or email, and check out your academic status at a glance.
What to Expect:
Your advisor will be using Civitas Learning to connect with you via email and text. This communication will help make sure you stay on track for academic success and get all the advising support you need! Follow the instructions below to set up your communication preferences:
Log in to your Dashboard with your ACC E-ID.
Click on the settings cog and scroll down to Communication Settings and Preferences.
Here, you can choose to opt in or out of text communication. If you prefer to receive both emails and text messages, select No Preference.
NOTE: Leave your profile setting on No Preference unless you have strong reasons for refusing either email or text messages. This way, advisors can send short updates to your phone and longer messages to your email.
To update your mobile phone information on file, you’ll need to log into your My ACC Student Portal account. Click on My Profile and add your preferred phone number. This will ensure your advisor has the correct contact information.
By agreeing to receive text messages, you acknowledge that standard text messaging rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Any costs related to receiving a text message are the responsibility of the individual receiving the message. Check with your cellphone provider for details on receiving text messages.
