Volunteering with Mobile Loaves and Fishes

Our Mission is to provide food and clothing, cultivate community and promote dignity to our homeless brothers and sisters in need.

Founded in Austin, Texas, the organization serves its homeless neighbors through three core programs; our Truck Ministry, Community First! Village, and Community Works.

Community First! Village

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities to sign up for on our volunteer website, where you can also apply to serve as a group of 5+ people, with our Genesis Gardens, Property Beautification, Community Market, Art House, and Move In Teams. Additionally, volunteers are able to host events or provide services for our neighbors such as tax help, game nights, dance or holiday parties, open mic nights, skillbuilding classes, and Community Meals.

Remote Volunteering

Remote volunteering projects are mostly things that will create beauty and a sense of home for our formerly homeless neighbors living at Community First! Village. Whether it spruces up a home they’ve lived in for the past couple years, furnishes a home they’re moving into for the first time, or brings beauty to a common, outdoor space at the Village, each remote project is a blessing to the community. Check out the DIY Donations page on their volunteer website for PDF instructions for projects as well as a form to suggest a different kind of DIY donation that you'd like to create!

Food Truck Ministry
Volunteers are the backbone of Mobile Loaves & Fishes’ food truck ministry. Not only do they prepare and deliver meals to men and women who are living on the streets, they also provide our homeless friends with the dignity that comes with a handshake, a hug or a friendly smile. Specific opportunities and details vary from one truck partner location to another, but may include Make Ready Teams, Truck Runs, Egg Deliveries, Baking, Food Pick-Ups, as well as Food and Clothing Drives.
