Help all children in foster care to have the support they need to excel in school.

Learning Bridge screens and trains community volunteers to tutor kids in foster care. Volunteers do not have to be educators – just committed adults who will show up each week for a student. Tutors assist students with homework or work with students on subjects that are challenging to them. The program serves students in K-12th grade in Travis, Hays, Williamson, and Bastrop counties of Texas and is free to foster and kinship families.

We need YOU to come support a central Texas kiddo in foster care!

We only ask for one hour a week and you get to hang out with a super cool kid who could use homework help, organizational skills, and an adult who is ready and willing to make a positive impact on their life.

We are looking for tutors to be matched with children in the foster care system who are in grades K-12. Tutors get to pick the subject and age range of the children they seek to work with and then we will match you with a kiddo who fits that description. We have virtual and in-person options available (although in-person is much more requested from kids). You do need to be over age 20 and have a clear background check to be eligible for the program!
