The League of Women Voters Austin Area is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots civic organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. We envision a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge, and the confidence to participate.

How to Get Involved
The League of Women Voters of the Austin Area enables a multitude of different programs and projects throughout the course of the year, all towards the mission of informing and empowering voters. ACC students can help with voter registration, event set-up, and specific projects related to voting and voter education as managed by our program directors.
If you'd like to volunteer to register voters in Texas, you must be certified as a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in the county where the voter lives. To become a VDR, complete the one-hour online VDR training offered by the Travis County Tax Office: https://tax-office.traviscountytx.gov/voters .
