Give the Gift of Independence to a Senior in Your Neighborhood!
Help us provide a valuable service to seniors in your own neighborhood by providing transportation to critical medical appointments, or by helping with grocery shopping or food pantry pick ups. Volunteering with Drive a Senior will give you a new understanding of the challenges of aging in areas that are lacking of senior friendly public transportation. You will meet some fabulous seniors full of stories - just one drive will be an opportunity to see your time help someone immediately and directly!

Volunteers provide transportation for senior adults in Cedar Park, Leander, and NW Austin to medical appointments, help with grocery shopping, and provide friendly check-in calls. All requests and opportunities are posted on an online schedule schedule - volunteers choose what fits their availability. Rides to dialysis (1-way drop off or pick up) can be short and fit into a college class schedule; shopping trips may be done with or without the senior and on volunteer's own time.
Our Volunteer Driver program is urgently seeking volunteers! This opportunity requires a car and good driving history; one-way and round trip rides are available, primarily during the work day, to clients' doctor's appointments, dialysis, cancer treatments, etc. There are some evening and weekend opportunities (grocery shopping, errands, food pantry pick ups, etc.)
