READING CLASS PHILOSOPHY:

• Rationale: In order to get better at reading, we have to read! Spending as much time on task as possible increases competency

• Grading: Students are given daily points for reading participation, as well as completing student/teacher conferences and assignments

• Goals: To read 40 books in and out of class, in at least 9 different genres; to learn how to choose books; to develop a love of reading and an ability to talk about reading
