Welcome to my website!

I am so happy you are here!  We are going to have an incredible year, learning and growing, as we work together to prepare you for your next journey- to high school and beyond!

This is my 21st year teaching middle school science, with the past 13 years here at AMS.  I feel so fortunate to be a part of the amazing staff at this school, and to be able to teach in such a supportive community.

I became a science educator for a couple of reasons.  I had a number of inspirational experiences growing up, learning about and having fun in the outdoors.  The first was in 2nd grade with my teacher, Mrs. Maxwell, who introduced us to Mrs. Terwilliger.  I still have vivid memories of that time with Mrs. T, and it made a huge impact on my place and purpose in the world.  I also had the opportunity to spend time outside at summer camp and  at Outdoor School in 6th grade,  and then returning as a counselor in high school.  I knew that I wanted to show young people the beauty of our natural world,  and teaching science, first in the outdoors and then in the classroom, was the path that led me to where I am today!

I can't wait to share my love of science with all of you this year as your teacher!
