Working Projects
Currently Community Schools is focusing on suppoorting school culture,building relationships and safety. As we begin the school year our first initiatives are:
Dream Center Collaboration and empowering student leaders within the Dream Center
Matador Enrichment Time (ME Time) support- Offering enrichment opportunities for students and peer tutoring
Beautification- creating more green outdoor learning spaces on campus
Transformative Justice Leadership Program (TJLP)- a comprehensive culturally relevant restorative practices program that addresses the root causes of self destructive behavior of Tier 2 & 3 students, expands student leadership , supports educators in implementing restorative and culturally relevant practices and creates healthy, welcoming and violence free schools.
Music Friday- Collaboration with ASB and student clubs to offer music and activities at lunch on Fridays.
This year we are so happy to support and collaborate with the Dream Center.High School Dream Centers are dedicated spaces in public K-12 schools that support undocumented, immigrant,LGBTQIA+ students, and students of color, along with their allies. They offer resources, programs, and leadership development, aiming to create safe, restorative, and compassionate learning environments where students and communities can thrive.
9th grade Math Peer Tutoring During ME Time takes place every Wednesday during ME Time in the Library. We have roughly 60 students participating.
