Independent Study (IS) Program 9th-12th
Our Independent Study (IS) program is available for Alhambra Unified School District students that are struggling to attend daily in-person instruction at a comprehensive site program due to a range of personal needs (Ex. student actors, student athletes, student pregnancy, student caregivers, students working to support their families, students addressing social/emotional needs, and students that have struggled to be successful at comprehensive sites after unsuccessful attempts of tiered intervention). We provide an alternative environment where students are supported based on individual need to earn a high school diploma. Our IS Program is available at each of our comprehensive high school sites. Parents/Guardians/Caregivers and students must sign a Master Agreement before they can be enrolled in the IS Program. Students enrolled in a minimum of four courses with satisfactory attendance and grades may participate at home school athletics programs and extracurricular events.
Students on interdistrict permits are not eligible to participate in our IS Program. Interdistrict students must participate in the IS program in their district of residence.
Please contact your high school counselor for more information about the IS Program.
BOLD Academy
Beyond Online Learning Developing (BOLD) Scholars Academy is a tier three credit recovery program that is located on each of Alhambra Unified School District's three comprehensive high school campuses. The strategic placement of developing scholars into BOLD is critical to the success of the student. The BOLD Scholars Academy’s goal is to provide a small setting within the school where a student can recover credits, build a future vision for career, and develop social emotional strength while maintaining the ability to experience access and equity on a comprehensive high school campus. The BOLD Scholars Academy should only be utilized once tier one and tier two resources and supports have been exhausted.
Please contact your high school counselor for more information about the BOLD Academy.
