Hello Arcadia High School Class of 2030 Families!
In collaboration with our middle school principal colleagues Dr. Acker, Mr. Eslami, Dr. Tung, and Mr. Long, we are thrilled to welcome your child as they prepare to begin their high school journey. The transition from middle school to high school is most successful when we work together, and we value this strong partnership between our feeder middle schools and Arcadia High School.
As part of this process, your child’s 8th grade counselor will guide students through 9th grade course registration with support from our 9th Grade Transition Counselor, Mrs. Andrea Campos.
To support families, Mrs. Campos will host a virtual parent workshop on Wednesday, April 1, at 6:30 PM. This session will walk parents through the 9th grade course selection process, review high school graduation requirements, and provide an overview of college entrance expectations, commonly referred to as the A–G requirements. If this feels like a lot of information, please know that these topics will be revisited often throughout your student’s time at AHS.
In addition, Arcadia High School will host an in-person Spring Preview on Thursday, April 2, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This event is an opportunity for students and parents to visit our campus, explore our facilities, and learn more about the wide range of rigorous and enriching programs we offer. Course selection sheets will be available to students throughout the month of April, with multiple opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance from counselors and Mrs. Campos.
All transition-related information can be found on the AHS Transition webpage, which is updated regularly. The site also includes a space to submit questions, helping us ensure our FAQ reflects your needs, along with contact information for additional support.
We are excited to welcome you and your family to Arcadia High School and look forward to partnering with you in the years ahead!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jorge Muñoz
Arcadia High School Principal
