Hello Arcadia High School Class of 2029 Families!
Along with my middle school principal partners Dr. Acker, Mr. Eslami, Dr. Tung and Mr. Long, we are so excited for your child’s transition to high school! This journey is a true partnership between our middle schools and the high school. Your child’s 8th grade counselor will help walk students through the process of registering for 9th grade courses with the support of our 9th grade transition counselor, Dr. Deja Anderson.
Dr. Anderson will be hosting a virtual parent workshop on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30 PM to help guide you through the 9th grade course selection process, introduce the high school graduation requirements, and also help familiarize parents with college entrance guidelines, often called the A-G requirements. If all of this sounds a bit overwhelming, don’t worry! There will be many opportunities throughout your time at AHS to revisit these topics.
On Thursday April 3, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, AHS will host an in-person Spring Preview for parents and students to tour our beautiful campus and to find out more about the enormous variety of high quality programs we offer to enrich and challenge our students. The course selection sheet will be available to students throughout the month of April with opportunities for students to ask questions and receive guidance from their counselors and Dr. Anderson.
You can find all of this information on the AHS transition webpage which is continually updated. There is a place to submit questions which helps us keep our FAQ relevant to your concerns and needs as well all relevant contact information.
We are so happy to welcome you to AHS!
Sincerely,
Dr. Angela Dillman
Arcadia High School Principal
