The PTA Reflections arts contest is back! This year’s theme is “I Belong” — Explore the Arts and Express Yourself. Students are invited to share their creativity through dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts. Every student has a unique story to tell, and Reflections is a wonderful way to celebrate imagination and self-expression. Families can support by encouraging entries and joining us in celebrating our students’ artistic voices. . Reflections Deadline on Friday, October 17 by 11:59 pm
Do you have game? Are you a baller? Come show your skills at boys basketball tryouts on October 7&8 immediately after school, on the Dana outdoor courts.

Varsity Tryout: 10/8

Dear Parents of 8th Grade Students,
The planning for the 8th Grade Promotion has started. We kindly request a monetary contribution per student to cover the many expenses that we need to put on a great experience for the students. Your support is indispensable in making this event memorable and meaningful for our students.
For more information on how to donate, please see the flyer: https://bit.ly/4mphaVW
If you would like to volunteer for the 8th grade promo committee, please fill out the volunteer form at: https://bit.ly/4ot5we6.
We really need volunteers for the Entertainment Committee, Donation/Raffle Committee and Clean Up Committee.
Please consider volunteering to help make the event a success.
LA County Science & Engineering Fair
Interested in science? Planning to participate in the Los Angeles County Science & Engineering Fair? Click here to join the Science Fair Mentorship Program! Middle school students will be paired with high school mentors to get help organizing, refining, and preparing their projects. It’s a great way to get support, stay on track, and feel confident presenting your work.
First meeting: Thursday, October 16 @ 12:15 PM at Arcadia High School
Sign-up deadline: October 9 @ 11:59 PM
To participate, you must already have a project idea and register for the Los Angeles County Science & Engineering Fair separately. Mentors will guide you through the process, but won’t create your project idea for you.
Don’t miss this chance to take your project to the next level!
Mrs. Tarsala Recommends...
“Ale heaves the ramp over the sandy, stubbly grass field. “Your dad’s gonna kill us, Em,” she says cheerfully. I tighten my battered helmet, check my knee and elbow pads, and glance at the ramp." Emmie is working to raise money for a tricked-out wheelchair to get serious about WCMX, when a mishap on a poorly designed ramp at school throws her plans into a tailspin. Instead of replacing the ramp, her school provides her with an aide--and, seeing a golden media opportunity, launches a public fundraiser for her new wheels. Emmie loves her close-knit town, but she can't shake the feeling that her goals--and her choices--suddenly aren't hers anymore.
This week on the main display table at the Dana Library: sports stories of all kinds. From baseball and football to fencing, swimming, roller derby, WCMX (wheelchair motocross) and more!
