Supporting students with their personal and social needs is a op priority for all of our support personnel. Research shows that students whose social and emotional needs are met do better academically. Below is a list of programs, resources, and articles utilized at Dana Middle School to support our students.
Restorative Circles are now being implemented in a variety of ways throughout Dana and the rest of our district. It is not uncommon to see circles in core content classes to further the curriculum, or as part of the counseling and discipline program in a more restorative manner to handle behavior and other issues. This approach puts students in the driver seat to restore peer relations in a positive and healing way through collaboration.
WEB, or Where Everybody Belongs, is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 6th/7th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout their first year of their middle school experience.
