Classes

Unlimited

Unlimited is a select auditioned ensemble of singers in both Ascension and Concert Choir. Performing Acapella and Jazz music makes solo singing, music theory, ear training and sight reading imperative. Unlimited rehearses primarily outside of school and competes as well as performs in a number of highly renowned events. Unlimited took 3rd place at the CHSAA Jazz Festival and received straight 1's at the UNC Jazz Festival in the 2015-16 school year.

Ascension

Ascension is a high level audition chamber and show choir that performs a wide range of music with choreography practiced and performed very often. All members of Ascension are also members of Concert Choir. Solo singing, music theory, ear training, and sight reading are expected and required of every member. Ascension is expected to compete several times and perform at a variety of venues, all outside of school. Ascension took 3rd place at the Old West Show Choir Festival and received straight 1's at the CHSAA Show Choir Festival.

Concert Choir

Concert Choir is an upper level performance based class where multiple styles of music and choreography are practiced and performed regularly. Solo singing, music theory, ear training and sight-reading are integral parts of the student's’ grade and they are incorporated in daily rehearsals. Attendance at ALL performances is mandatory for ALL enrolled students.

Women's Ensemble

Women’s Ensemble is a beginning level performance based class where multiple styles of music and choreography are practiced and performed regularly. Solo singing, music theory, ear training and sight-reading are integral parts of the student’s grade and they are incorporated in daily rehearsals. Attendance at ALL performances is mandatory for ALL enrolled students.

Piano

Piano 1 is designed as an introduction to the piano with room for more advanced technique for those students who are ready. Each student can progress at their own pace (within reason). The students will experience music from several different time periods dating back to the early 17th century up to modern music.
