Nina Scheideman (Ms. Shy)

Hello! I am Nina Scheideman and I have been the Instrumental Music Teacher at Columbia since 2008. I was an Aurora Public Schools student and am happy to be back as a teacher! I studied Music Performance at the University of Denver as a flute player. I have also received my Master's in Educational Leadership from Walden University. I love teaching and truly enjoy the kids that I get to work with. I have high expectations and we still have fun while we become the best musicians that we can be.

Every music class has the same Google Classroom (classroom.google.com) that should be checked daily. The code is ixsspek

Every year I have the honor of co-directing the school play. We always choose a fun musical and it is an after school activity that any student can participate in. We always end with fun awards and 7 performances.

One of the highlights of the year is the Advanced Music class trip to the Music in the Parks Festival! We compete at a high school in Arvada and then head to Elitch Gardens to have fun and attend the awards ceremony.
