1st semester's focus will be on music theory for beat, meter, rhythm values, and the treble staff. Second grade students will also learn about pitch. They sing Hello to me on pitches So, Mi. They will wiggle their body into good vibrations and reach high and low. The following are the buzz words for pitch: vibration, high, and low. They will learn how to sing solfege with their voice and hands which is Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do.
Grades will be based on effort and their ability to grasp these skills using academic language.
