In 2017, the staff of Hinkley High School began a process of articulating their beliefs about grading. The documents found on this page reflect those decisions and were guided, in large part, by Hinkley's philosophy statement. If you have any questions about the guidance found here please reach out to your Department Chair, your liaison administrator, or the Teacher Partner.
HINKLEY’S PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
We, the staff at Hinkley, believe all students can and must learn at appropriately high levels of achievement. It is our job to create classroom environments resulting in exceptional growth. We are confident that, with our support, students will become critical thinkers, effective communicators, self-advocates, stewards of the community, and navigators of the 21st century. We achieve this educational purpose by working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
The Model Gradebook diagram is provided to assist teachers in setting up their gradebooks correctly. Please reach out for assistance if you need it!
An M has a few different meanings. This is a great slide to review with your students! Note that the date of September 4th is for a previous school year and will need to be updated.
