Lab Monitors are student advocates. Students need someone who is compassionate and will hold them accountable for their performance with relentless consistency. Lab Monitors should also build relationships with their students to understand why each student is in the program. They should know the student's personal goals, any personal learning styles, and any needs they might have.

Ensure students' access to resources
Monitor student attendance and progress
Monitor students' online activity utilizing GoGuardian software for Chromebooks
Address acts of plagiarism or cheating on assignments, quizzes or tests, especially pre-testing
Motivate students to complete coursework
Address any student or parent questions or concerns
Communicate any issues or instructional needs to the HQT
Recommend/communicate program withdrawals or course changes to a counselor and/or administrator
Lab Monitors are the connection between school and home.
Guardians should be contacted early if attendance is an issue and/or academic progress is challenged
Use your school email or Google chat communication (never use personal phone or personal email)
Contact guardians if a student completed a course to report student successes
