All NEA Micro-Credentials are worth 10 hours of licensed salary advancement. Since 15 hours of licensed salary advancement is equal to one college credit, every three micro-credentials you earn is equal to two college credit hours - FOR FREE.
When you earn a micro-credential, you will be given a link to a digital badge. This badge is certified by Digital Promise and the NEA Center for Great Public Schools and contains the competencies you demonstrated in earning the badge. In other words, it's not just a web image - it has your accomplishments and the certification "baked in." When a user clicks on the badge, they will see what you accomplished in order to be awarded the badge. You can use the badge in any digital medium - email, resumes, websites, etc.
To receive credit in Saba for your achievement, log into Saba, locate the Micro-Credential you earned, and "enroll" in the class. You will be given a one question "assessment" - in which you will paste the link to your badge. The Personalized Learning Partners will then be notified of your successful completion, and 10 hours of salary advancement credit will be yours!
For Instance: If you earned the badge for the micro-credential "ELL: Understanding Academic Language," you could either search Saba for "Micro-Credential: ELL - Understanding Academic Language," or follow the link for the class from this google sheet. Next, you will enroll in the class and take the assessment (simply paste in the link to your badge). We'll be notified and able to award credit.
