Kent State University 2024 Fashion Show Behind the Scenes: While at Behind the Scenes you will get the chance to take part in some fantastic sessions that show you what it takes to turn fashion from a hobby or class into your passionate profession from both the design and merchandising sides. Come learn from our world class faculty, talk to some of our student panels, and get to know our guest artist, McKenzie Morgan. Summer Camps & Opportunities

University of Findlay Pharmacy Summer Camp: An overnight camp at University of Findlay, open to any high school student who will be either a junior or senior in high school in the fall of 2024. Our four-day three-night experience on campus gives students an opportunity to stay in a dorm and engage in hands-on activities with our esteemed pharmacy students and faculty. Lebanon Valley College Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program: The goal of the Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program is to provide a window into the scientific basis of human health.  Through lectures and hands-on laboratory investigations in state-of-the-art laboratories, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of disciplines such as molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, pharmacology, immunology, and other medical sciences.  Students will learn how laboratory science can be translated into improved human health, and they will engage in investigative experiences that will allow them to apply their laboratory skills to real life problems.  In addition, students will interact with practicing professionals in fields such as medicine, physical therapy, toxicology, nursing and biomedical laboratory research. The Health and Biomedical Sciences camp will provide a fun, challenging and engaging college environment in which students will develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a biomedical scientist and health professional. The AMDA High School Conservatory: This is an immersive program that provides extraordinary performing arts training for passionate artists. This program offers cutting-edge learning opportunities that are uniquely personal and specifically designed for today’s emerging performing artists. West Point Summer Leaders Experience: Led by current West Point cadets, Summer Leaders Experience is a week-long immersion into the academic, military, and social life of a West Point cadet. At SLE, you will explore West Point from all angles, including our high-tech educational facilities, team-building athletic activities, and realistic military training. SLE gives you a taste of the character, determination, commitment to excellence, and leadership skills required to become a West Point cadet. An SLE application doubles as the first step of a West Point application (Candidate Questionnaire); however, please keep in mind that completing an SLE application is not an obligation to complete a West Point application or atten West Point, but it will keep the option open during your college search. Bucknell Academy Summer Experience: At BASE, the Bucknell Academy Summer Experience, rising high school juniors and seniors spend a week living like a college student. You'll stay in our residence halls, attend classes taught by Bucknell professors and develop problem-solving skills designed to help you make an impact on the world. BASE participants join Bucknell faculty and students to find innovative solutions to pressing issues. Perhaps you'll team up with environmental engineers and global managers to create better technology for clean water. Or maybe you'll collaborate with performing artists and biomedical engineers to reimagine prosthetics used by actors or musicians.

Girls Who Code Virtual Coding Camps: Our virtual Summer Programs are 100% free and open to current 9-12th girls and non-binary students of all skill levels. As they build confidence and connect with students from around the country, students can choose to learn new computer science skills in game design, web design, cybersecurity, or data science and artificial intelligence. Summer Journalism Academy at Boston University:Expand your skills and prepare for college, either through a resedential experience on campus or through remote instruction from home. Each academy instructor is also a working journalist, so what's taught is grounded in real-life experience. Each lesson is tied to its practical application, by giving students actual reporting assignments. Each day is a sample of life as a news reporter. Lake Erie College LAB Week: Since 1980, Learning About Business has provided high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a week-long mini-MBA experience, providing an interactive business simulation while fostering creative problem solving. Held on the beautiful campus of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, LAB students get a taste of college life away from home. NEOMED MedCamp: Participants spend three days at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). They learn how a physician communicates with a patient, how to study the clues to a patient’s illness and how to solve the case by using critical thinking skills in addition to modern laboratory techniques. $175, July 11-13, 2024. Bucknell University Engineering Camp: Explore engineering and kick-start your college experience by experimenting in real research labs with Bucknell's world-class faculty. Engineering Camp is an academically challenging, hands-on introduction to engineering held on Bucknell's campus during the summer. You'll discover the many different areas where engineers apply their skills, study the latest technologies that shape our world and learn how the scientific phenomena you've studied in school are applied to solve engineering problems. Ohio Business Week: Summer camp where high school students across Ohio will have the opportunity to learn and practice their business skills June 16-21, 2024. The program is open to any age high school student but we generally focus on current sophomores and juniors. Over 150 students will not only be inspired in their entrepreneurial journey but also experience six days of college life at Bowling Green State University. There is a small fee of $499 to assist with the costs of housing, meals and program items but we also have a pool of financial aid for students that qualify. UH Portage Medical Center Summer Volunteer Program: A ten week volunteer program for high school and college students over the summer months. Students are assigned to volunteer roles throughout the hospital and affiliate medical sites. Additional benefits for summer volunteer participants: Opportunity to have a 1⁄2 day observational experience in a healthcare career area of their choice and exclusive monthly “Lunch and Learn” sessions to meet and ask questions from UH Portage healthcare professionals (i.e. Doctor, Nurse, PA, Physical Therapist, Pharmacist, etc.). Students must submit a volunteer application, interview with Volunteer Services and attend an orientation session. Students are asked to commit to one shift, 3-4 hours per week. Most volunteer experiences are assigned Monday through Friday with limited volunteer opportunities available evenings and weekends. Ashland University COBE Summer Institute: As the workforce demands more tangible skills, professional certifications and licenses are a testament to your abilities. During our 1-week workshop, students get a chance to obtain over 10 professional certificates. Digital badges will be awarded for each course completed. Additionally, students will receive a certificate of completion from the Summer Institute, two elective credits from Ashland University, and a $1,000 scholarship applied to first-year tuition at Ashland University. Northern Michigan University Future Educator Academy: Participants will gain hands-on experience working with elementary students in partnership with NMU's College for Kids program, while also learning about child development, principles of effective teaching, and creating exciting learning experiences. Northern Michigan University Environmental Science Camp: High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors during the 2023-24 academic school year are invited to join us to explore the scenic vistas and natural resources of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! At this academic camp, you will experience firsthand how scientists incorporate technology and field experiences to study the changing environment. Paddle the AuTrain River to Lake Superior to monitor water quality issues.  Learn about local minerals, what techniques are used to extract them, and how mining affects the environment and society.  Understand the role of the Great Lakes in shipping resources such as iron ore. Explore pristine lakes and ancient mountains. University of Dayton Female Aspiring Business Scholars (FABS) Summer Program

FABS is an overnight camp offered by UD’s School of Business Administration that provides young women a weeklong immersion into business fundamentals and hands-on experience researching, designing and pitching a business plan with a team of fellow campers. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with faculty, staff and community business professionals while earning three hours of college credit.

University of Dayton Summer Engineering Experiences at UD (SEE-UD)

SEE-UD camps offered by our School of Engineering provide students with an opportunity to explore the diverse fields of engineering and learn more about engineering at UD through interactive modules and hands-on lab experiences. At our three daylong camps on June 24, 25 and 26, participants will learn about a specific discipline of engineering while striving to solve some of the most prominent problems our world faces today, called the Grand Challenges of Engineering. 

Please note that our experiences have changed from a multiday residential camp to a one-day camp for the summer of 2024. Overnight accommodations are not available.

Dates: Each day features one or two engineering disciplines. Participants may attend multiple days if interested. On days with two disciplines, the sessions will run at the same time, and students will choose which session to attend.

Time: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Lunch is included.)

Cost: $35 per day

SEE-UD experiences are open to students with a 3.0 high school GPA or higher. 

Our SEE-UD registration will close when capacity is reached. We anticipate all camps to fill quickly.

Creative Coding Summer Workshop - Junior and senior high school students with little or no background in coding and computer graphics are invited to a two-afternoon, hands-on workshop hosted at the Kent State University campus. Led by faculty in the School of Emerging Media and Technology, attendees will learn the basics of JavaScript and leave with a distinctive digital artifact and the tools to create generative art. This workshop is perfect for students exploring their expressive side and curious about coding.

Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aeronautics Camp - In this camp, 20 high school students will receive a free, three-day camp experience funded through the Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aviation Fund and The College or Aeronautics and Engineering. Students will explore careers in aviation while staying in dorms on Kent State University’s Kent Campus.
