Welcome Back to School!
We kicked off the year with our first Breakfast Club, welcoming both returning students and new students to New Tech.
Mr. Petersen's Guitar 2 students rocked out and showed off their skills to everyone.
Leadership students organized games during the assembly and had a fun time introducing the teachers and school staff to all.
Mrs. Hysell, Mrs. McWilliams and teachers shared announcements about upcoming field trips and gave students the latest school news.
On September 16th, students in Spanish 1 & 2 learned about Mexican Independence Day and the significance of this date to the Mexican culture. To celebrate, Mrs. Hernandez and her class created tasty treats of homemade tortillas with salsa, cotija cheese and fresh cilantro.
Students have been enjoying our new physics class with Mr. Arnell.
Seen here, students used lab equipment to create standing waves. They investigated the effect of string tension on wave speed.
Mrs. Boydstun has her art students once again creating stunning art pieces to line our walls!
Art 1 has been working on training their eyes to measure spaces and lines on a page in a different way by attempting to draw an image upside down. This taps into the problem-solving part of the brain.
Art 2 has been painting on a 3D object using acrylic paint to create representation of opposites that we find in the world today.
Freshmen and sophomore students are having a great time in PE with Mr. Arnell. Currently, they are focusing on yoga for stretching, getting stronger for the upcoming physical fitness test, and enjoying the fresh air while learning and playing pickleball.
Leadership hosted our first lock-in for the school year on September 12th. More than half the school attended this FREE event! Thanks to parents/guardians and staff who donated not only food and drinks but also their time to make this a safe and fun activity for everyone.
Students are looking forward to what Leadership has planned next!
